Ñandutí, in the indigenous Guaraní language, means "spider web." True to its name, it is a delicate handicraft made with thread. It involves stretching a base thread and then weaving or knotting other threads onto it to create patterns. The embroidery is stiffened with adhesive, and once the embroidered portion is detached from the fabric, Ñandutí is complete. The texture is quite crisp and firm, maintaining its shape while retaining the soft feel of the threads.
