Tea Bowl

Crafted on the rooftop of my workshop in Taiwan, this hand-thrown tea bowl embodies the quiet beauty of imperfection, central to the Wabi Sabi aesthetic. Measuring 14 cm wide and 8 cm high, its form is both generous and grounding in the hand. The matte black glaze reveals subtle tonal variations—shifts that speak of heat, clay, and the maker’s hand in harmony. A hand-carved foot ring lifts the bowl just slightly, giving it presence without pretense. Each curve, each mark is intentional in its honesty. This is a piece that invites reflection—on simplicity, transience, and the imperfect beauty of the everyday.
