ABOUT ITEM'S ORIGIN (You can SKIP it!) Panorama cameras producing for at least 150 years in various types and sizes in different countries around the world. Most of the cameras produce an image of at least 110 degrees wide and some take a picture of 360 degrees, a full circle. Krasnogorsk plant (USSR/Russia) made first panorama camera FT-2 in 1958, next model of camera named as Horizon was introduced in1968. Horizon camera received very special "secrete" lens from spy mini camera MF-1. Chief Constructor of KMZ plant E. Soloviev could place this special purpose military lens into civil (general purpose) camera, even it was very difficult in 1967. May be the Horizon camera is not so good as famous trademarks like Widelux, but it base at good ideas and KMZ plant still produce slightly improved Horizon cameras now. I like more old Horizon than latest one because it have no plastic parts inside... thus it is more reliable. (at usual 135mm film). * Shutter speeds: 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30. Swing lens rotates and scans the frame during about 1/4 sec. at any shutter speed, thus to receive best image quality it is recommended to use a support, cable release or at least a grip. * Special removable grip helps to receive sharp images. * Shutter release button has standard conic groove for cable release. * Shutter release is very smooth at presented camera. * Lens: OF-28P, 28 mm f/2.8, coated. The lens #8915 is very clean, without any scratches and fungus. * Aperture from 2.8 to 16 (with clicks). * Shutter speed and aperture should be installed after cocking the shutter. * Focusing: the lens has a fixed focus and takes sharp images up to infinity according with installed aperture: F2.8 from 5.5 m; F4 from 3.9 m; F5.6 from 2.9 m; F8 from 2 m; F11 from 1.5 m; F16 from 1 m. * Viewfinder: there is a special panoramic removable viewfinder with a bubble seen inside to keep the camera in a level. * Field of view: for camera - 120x45 degrees, for viewfinder 110x44 degrees. * Eyepiece magnification: 0.4x. * Tripod mount: standard groove 1/4 inch.
