Silver and partial gold coated leaves collar necklace (N0124)

This necklace is made of stiff sterling silver collar necklace and handmade leaves pendant with loops at the back to allow for the pendant to slide onto collar. The silver leaf-shape pieces are hammered on surface with long strikes to obtain this beautiful organic pattern. The gold version is also available, where some leaves are in plain silver and others coated in yellow gold finish. The necklace is a part of our “leaf” collection. All the leaves are hand-cut from a thin silver sheet and hammered on surface to create leaf grain pattern. Leaves are then soldered one to another to create the final shape of the piece. In the same collection we created a series of different earrings with same techniques, as well as two styles of necklaces. Our silver products are created in 95-98% Silver which is typical of the Thai Karen hill-tribe artisans, who have been using traditional tools and techniques for centuries. The Karen are a group of ethnic peoples who reside primarily in southern and southeastern Burma and in northern and north-eastern Thailand. Thai and Burmese hill tribes can be traced back to the 12th century when they are said to have originated from Tibet. With a higher silver content than sterling silver, Karen silver has a weight, bright satin color and feel, all of its own. Every piece is handmade and individual.
