A kappa who loves taiyaki.
His absolute favorite is taiyaki filled with sweet red bean paste.
That’s why he’s never even tried any of the unusual flavors.
One day, a new taiyaki shop opened near the train station, so he decided to check it out.
He was about to order his usual red bean taiyaki without even looking at the menu—
when something caught his eye:
“Mayo Taiyaki.”
He was shocked! Of course, he’d never seen such a thing before.
And truth be told, he loves mayonnaise almost as much as he loves taiyaki.
But mayonnaise is supposed to be a supporting player, not the star!
So he asked the shop owner, “Does it really have mayonnaise inside?”
“Yes,” the owner replied, “inside and out.”
“Inside and out?”
“Yes. First, we squeeze mayonnaise onto the mold and cook it.
Once it’s nicely charred black, we squeeze more mayonnaise inside, then sandwich it all together. And that’s it.”
Is this guy serious!?
Isn’t mayonnaise a liquid!? So you solidify it, then put more liquid mayo in between?
This is like some kind of scientific taiyaki evolution!
Like the Professor Denjiro of the taiyaki world!
Naturally, the kappa went home with a sweet red bean taiyaki.
