Mordovian Russian vintage chess set 1955 – red black 70 years old wooden chess

This type of chess set had been manufacturing from the late 1940s to the mid-1950s in the Mordovian ASSR (Mordovian Autonomous Socialist Republic – now called Republic of Mordovia, located southeast of the Moscow region), in Temnikovsky correctional labor camps (Temlag) in the village of Yavas and the surrounding settlements. Board: 36x36 cm, square 4.4 cm. King: 9.5 cm, base 4 cm. Pawn: 4 cm, base 2.9 cm. Weight 1080 g. Damages: most of the chess pieces lost their bottom felts, black pawn has collar`s crack, a little bit unstable chess board (maybe a little change of the wood due to the passed time).
