Small tea cup

This wheel-thrown tea bowl was made in my small pottery workshop here in Taiwan. My workshop overlooks the Yamingshan mountain which is a constant source of inspiration. This pot was made from Japanese porcelain clay and then a black glossy glaze was applied. I also dusted wood ash over the glaze which resulted in some golden and purple drips and speckles. A special feature of this bowl is the white dot found in the middle of the piece. This dot symbolizes a full moon in a stary sky. My seal is stamped at the base of this tea bowl.
