"Sterkh" collector coin
Coin from the series "Red Book of Ugra".
At present, the Siberian Crane (the white crane, lat. Grus leucogeranus) is threatened with extinction and is listed in the International Red Data Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Animals CITES, as well as in the Red Book of Russia.
At present the population of the species in the wild is estimated at about 2,900-3,000 individuals.
A critical situation has developed with the West Siberian Cranes - about 20 of them remain in the wild.
